Duane has been involved in the field of mental health and human services since 1989 after graduating college. He and his wife met in 1988 and married in 1989. Like all relationships, we have had our ups and downs, dealt with our emotional baggage, and figured out how to improve our communication & conflict resolution skills in order to make it last 36 years and going strong. Duane worked for nonprofit organizations in Colorado and Scotland in the first dozen years of work. Following grad school, Duane entered the field of rehabilitative counseling focused on healing family violence. Duane currently works full time for the Department of Navy at Joint Base Pearl Harbor and sees private clients in person and virtually in the evenings.

In his spare time, Duane enjoys golf, fishing, racquetball, and boating. While feeling quite at home in the Hawaiian tropics, he misses snow skiing and winter camping with his buddies at Rocky Mountain National Park. He’s definitely excited to ski in Japan!!!
